3 Startup Companies Elevating the Face of Travel

According to The New York Times, the Mandala Research firm found that African-Americans spend $48 Billion a year on travel within the United States alone. These numbers are extremely high especially despite us not being considered a target audience in mainstream travel. Often when you see travel sites, commercials etc the experiences vary but the face of the travelers to reflect our melanin does not. These new companies created for us, by people like us have infiltrated the system into the Black Travel Movement as most are calling it. It is extremely vital to visit different places and experience different cultures to truly say we have experienced life. The world around us is for us to explore, that alone brings therapy that can't be found anywhere else! These companies have worked at making sure travel experiences are custom tailored to us melanin-rich voyageurs seeking to travel not only for personal enrichment but to volunteer and study abroad as well.

Be sure to stay tuned as we will be traveling abroad with one of these chosen companies this upcoming December!

“I thought about creating a community of people who looked like me, who loved to travel,” Travel Noire founder and CEO Zim Ugochukwu said. She wondered why brands weren't spending money in this influential market. At 27 years young she said the idea of the site came to her while she was living in India still a traveling minority. Travel Noire has succeeded in showing travelers how to fly to destinations abroad without sacrificing from bills and necessary expenses. The site also has a subscription service for $9 a month; users can actually seek advice through chat rooms with experienced travelers across the world.  They also give glitch airfare notification to allow travelers the ability to take advantage of airline computer glitches that happen fairly often. Travel Noire gives us, even more, quality with an amazing blog providing more insight with articles like "How to Quit your Job and travel abroad”. That article alone gave me tons of personal insight and wisdom to create a few personal lifestyle changes of plans.

Often in our community travel seems to be shared frequently on social media but rarely executed. Immediate costs without savings can seem like an overwhelming goal when paying upfront. Airfordable being a financial technology company has found a new way to help you book your flying and pay overtime before your departure. By locking in a rate early on travelers have the benefit of also ensuring a ticket price without last minute inflation. These two entrepreneurs set out with a goal to make travel accessible and a new part of culture to those with limited means.
